These past few months have been filled with frustration, confusion, and loss, especially within our transgender community here in NY. The confusion surrounding executive orders and lawsuits and the grief we've seen are overwhelming. But we’re coming together to support one another.
Join Collar City Pride and Cafe Euphoria for a Community Solidarity Gathering on Monday, April 28th at 7:00 PM. Masks provided and required for accessibility, and live-streaming on our Instagram!
This group conversation will be led by Meagon Nolasco, founder of Collar City Pride, social worker, non-binary individual, and community member. Together, we’ll discuss:
🔹 Recent legislation targeting transgender individuals
🔹 How we’re working to combat anti-trans rhetoric in our community
🔹 An open floor for all to share their concerns, frustrations, grief, joy, hope, and everything in between
Trigger Warning: This conversation may include language regarding violence against transgender individuals, strong emotional and mental health discussions, and potentially triggering words or language related to transphobia and homophobia. Support will be available on-site for anyone who needs a 1:1 conversation during the gathering.
The gathering will wrap up with a grounding exercise and details for our next event. Masks will be provided and required to make this event accessible to all. You’re welcome to come, even if you just want to listen—no need to share unless you feel comfortable.
We hope to see you there and continue building a stronger, more supportive community.
