In wake of election, LGBTQ+ community looks to the potluck

On November 30, 2024, Collar City Pride, in partnership with the Pride Center of the Capital Region, In Our Own Voices, and Queer Men of the Berkshires (Q-MoB), hosted the inaugural Rensselaer LGBTQ+ Community Gratitude Potluck at the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region in Troy. This event provided a space for community members to come together, share a meal, and engage in meaningful discussions. The gathering concluded with a forum led by In Our Own Voices, focusing on how the LGBTQ+ community can better support transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary individuals. Organizers emphasized the importance of unity and mutual support, especially in light of recent political developments.
